About the Artist

NaShantá Fletcher is a Chicago-area illustrator, Design Director at Cottage Door Press, former cosplayer, tabletop RPG enthusiast, and Emmy nominated visual storyteller. Becoming a mother reignited her passion for children's media and story telling.
​
She has illustrated two picture books for Scholastic, written by author/musician Divinity Roxx. The books Happy & Healthy and Me + You  are based on songs from Divinity's  Grammy-nominated children's album Ready, Set, Go!

Prior to her illustration career, NaShantá worked in broadcast television for 16 years, most notably as a Graphic Artist for the WGN Morning News, and Graphic Design Manager for the national news network, NewsNation.

NaShantá is also the former Illustrator Coordinator for the Illinois Region of the SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators). ​
