About

NaShantá Fletcher is a Chicago-area illustrator, Design Director at Cottage Door Press, and Emmy-nominated visual storyteller with a career rooted in children’s media, design, and expanding access to stories and creative learning. Becoming a mother reignited her passion for creating meaningful content for young readers and families, shaping both her professional and personal work.

She has illustrated picture books published by Scholastic, including Happy & Healthy and Me + You  written by Grammy-nominated musician and author Divinity Roxx and inspired by songs from the album Ready, Set, Go!. Her creative work spans illustration, video production, and digital storytelling, all driven by a love of imagination and accessibility in children’s media.

Prior to working in publishing, NaShantá spent seventeen years in broadcast television, most notably as a Graphic Artist for the WGN Morning News and later as Graphic Design Manager for the national news network NewsNation.

NaShantá is also the President and a founding board member of the Schaumburg Township Library Foundation, where she helps support fundraising and community initiatives that strengthen access to library programs, creativity, and lifelong learning. She previously served as Illustrator Coordinator for the Illinois Region of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
